The Musical

This musical intertwines two mythic love stories: the young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and Queen Persephone. Orpheus is a hopeful musician who falls in love with Eurydice, a practical and starving runaway. When hardship strikes, Eurydice is lured to the industrial underworld of Hadestown by the promise of security. King Hades rules a mechanized underworld, while his wife Persephone brings spring and life to the earth above, though strain has grown between them. Orpheus travels to the underworld to rescue Eurydice, striking a deal with Hades that allows them to leave if Orpheus walks ahead without looking back to check if she is following.
